Vicki Wilson Equestrian & Showjumping

“Horses are like athletes, both mentally and physically. They have to be taught how to use their bodies properly to get to the top.”

Vicki Wilson has established an international reputation in show jumping. She has her sights set on taking her horses and her team of elite riders to the top. She also mentors talented young riders to becoming future show jumping champions.

With Vicki, everything begins with the horse. Her philosophy is simple: happy horses perform better. From diet and environment to a fun and stimulating daily routine, every angle is carefully designed to encourage her horses to reach their full potential.

The Vicki Wilson equine breeding program produces elite competition horses from sires and dams with proven traits.

A much-awarded rider...

As a show jumping competitor, Vicki has few rivals in her home country of New Zealand. At 7 years of age, she won her first national title and ten more years of hard work paid off when she won the World Cup in 2014. Competing at the New Zealand Horse of the Year Show, Vicki has won the Lowry Medallion five times and the Nationwide Cup nine times – more than any other rider in history. Vicki is a versatile rider, competing across the show jumping, show hunter and showing disciplines. She has represented New Zealand in the winning Trans-Tasman Young Rider team three times and in Europe jumped to 1.40m under the New Zealand flag.

The world’s best start for young horses...

Outside the show jumping arena, Vicki was named the 2017 and 2018 World Champion Colt Starter at the Road to the Horse event in Kentucky, USA, and was invited back to Road to the Horse 2019. She has started hundreds of other young colts and fillies in her time, including wild Kaimanawa horses in New Zealand, Brumbies in Australia and Mustangs in the United States.

And a crowd-pleasing entertainer

Vicki has for a number of years impressed crowds in the Southern Hemisphere through bareback and bridle-free demonstrations and jumping displays. In 2011 Vicki jumped a 1.82m wall bareback. In 2012 she jumped a car, and in 2013 another horse.
